An Introduction

Welcome to my blog! This is where I’ll be posting about what I’m learning and some of my personal projects as I work towards becoming a full-time Machine Learning Engineer. I only started teaching myself Python in 2019. At the time, I was a Chemical Engineer who was very tired of working at chemical plants. Looking for a way out of a career in the petrochemical industry, I found Data Science and Machine Learning from a blog post on the Internet and started learning Python right away. I began taking introductory Python courses from EdX.com and Coursera.com, and after a year of self-study, I managed to get into the Master’s of Data Science program at the University of Rochester, where I am now.

I plan to use this blog to document my journey through graduate school and share some of the projects that I’ve worked on. My hope is that this blog will showcase my skills to potential employers as well as be a useful resource for other aspiring Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers. As for other students, I hope to share my experience of how I got into grad school, lessons I’ve learned, mistakes I’ve made, assumptions that I’ve found to be incorrect, and useful resources for learning how to code.

I hope you find this blog as useful as I have, please feel free to reach out for any reason. My information is on the Contact page.
